About Shelby

Country, southern-rock, traditional hymns and blues influence Shelby K’s unique Americana songwriting style and sound. Shelby has always loved music and as a little girl would entertain her family and friends by impersonating singers and worldly accents. She participated in choral competitions and joined her middle school band quickly learning 5 different instruments.

In high school however she had to choose between music and ag class. She chose the latter, and her singing was reduced to during car rides and at church. While in college she briefly thought about trying out for a singing competition; however, a negative comment from a family member kept her from singing in front of others for several years.

​

In 2021 she was asked to perform on-stage for a large companies awards ceremony. It was here that she caught the performance bug and started 3 different bands. River Front a 13 piece group featuring songs from Chicago to Miley Cyrus. Backroads Lullaby a four-piece country and southern rock group. And Reverie, a trio  showcasing country, southern-rock mixed with an alternative sound.

In 2024 with the encouragement of her good friend and producer, Cody Leppo; she wrote her first song entitled, "Truth" along with two other songs, "Never End" and "You Left Me". All released as a 3 song EP in early 2025.

​

Her musical storytelling and lyrics evoke an emotional response from her audience that takes them on a journey to find themselves in each story while also understanding others. She is excited to work on new projects with other singer/songwriters and hopes that she brings hope and a light to those who hear her sing. In a world of black and gray be a splash of color.
